Atelier W were tasked to design a 200 apartment and 2000 sqm mixed use development with a multi-storey car park for a Malaysian developer in Kuching. The brief required the design to maximise the plot ratio area which was achievable however the design was severely stifled by these parameters and boundary setbacks. Atelier W cleverly manipulated the apartment planning which utilised corner facing living areas and alternated the balconies to create a dynamic interlocking volume and an articulated facade.
